From the Bowdoin, built in Boothbay in 1921 and the veteran of 28 trips above the Arctic Circle, to the present day with tours of the Washburn and Doughty Shipyard (recovered from the destructive fire not that long ago. Three days, July 30 to August 1!!


And of course food and music, and an interesting film, and many things for the kids to do. Oh, and be prepared for the invasion of the Festival by "pirates" - date and time?? Come and see!

HISTORY IS THE PAST, CENTURIES LONG: TODAY, A FEW SECONDS MOVING THROUGH TIME: AND TOMORROW, WHICH WE CAN ONLY THEORIZE ABOUT. SO, TAKE A LOOK AT POSSIBILITES IN TOMORROW'S OCEAN AROUND OUR STATE.


On Sunday August 1 at the United Methodist Church in East Boothbay at 11:00 AM, William Wilson, a Senior Scientist at the Bigelow Laboratory, will present "Marine Algae: The Planets Second Lung", dealing with the health of the world's oceans, an issue that will become more important as we more forward in this century.
